Dear Kloefkorn Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support of your child’s education. First semester will be drawing to a close in a few weeks and I can confidently say that all of our students have made excellent academic progress. Thank you for instilling the value of education in your child(ren). We are truly grateful for your partnership!

Permit Deadline (KG & 5th Grade – pay special attention)
If you currently live outside of the attendance area of the school you plan to attend next year you may need to turn in a permit in by January 8th. If you are currently attending a school on a permit you do not need to fill out a new one unless you have an incoming kindergartner or 6th grader.
Incoming Kindergarten Students-
If your family is here on permit you still need to fill out a new one for your incoming Kindergarten student.
Outgoing 5th Grade Students-
As a reminder, many of our families fall into the Moore Middle School attendance area now. If you plan to go to Lux (or any other middle school) you will likely need to fill out a permit for next year.
Kindergarten Registration 2018-19
If you are currently living in our attendance area and have a child that will turn five before July 31, you should have been asked either in person or via email to confirm Kindergarten enrollment for the 2018-19 school year. If you (or someone you know) believes they should have received a email  from us, but did not, please contact the school as soon as possible.
Holiday Teacher Wish List
If you would like to provide a meaningful gift for your child’s teacher this season, we encourage you to look over the teacher’s wish list. While gifts are certainly NEVER expected, we have had many families inquire as to what they could do to brighten the day of their favorite teacher(s) during the upcoming season.
Lost and Found
Please have your child(ren) check the lost and found for misplaced hats, gloves, coats etc. Items not claimed by December 22 will be donated to charity.
LPS 2018 Spelling Bee – Saturday, February 10th

Hour of Code
Registration for this year’s Lincoln Hour of Code city-wide event is now open at – this free event is geared toward K-8 students and their families. The event will be held on Saturday, December 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at Nebraska Innovation Campus. The Hour of Code is co-sponsored by LPS, the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, UNL, and many other local groups. We will have opportunities for students to take part in coding activities and explore over 20 interactive booths and activities. Come join us for an hour or all three hours! This event is part of Computer Science Education Week (December 4-10).
Sock Drive
We will be holding a sock drive for our sister school, Riley Elementary. We are looking for new socks of any size. Students can make their contributions in the front lobby from December 11th-22nd. Any donation would be appreciated as the weather grows colder.
